Such a nice and casual spot for some soba and udon. Their sashimi was fresh and thick, and the tempura was tasty.

I arrived an hour before closing, and I really enjoyed how quiet and peaceful it was with only a few customers left. The sashimi in the Chirashi bowl was very fresh and tasted amazing, but the execution of the rest of the dish was a letdown. The sushi rice seemed completely unseasoned (which might be fine if you dislike vinegar, but I missed it). The Ebi shrimp was dry and unusually sour. Worst of all, the miso soup had an off-putting smell that reminded me of rubber, but it’s not a big deal for me. On the bright side, the Mushroom Soba soup was delicious, and I really liked the side of seasoned rice that came with it.

Gonna be very honest. I tried their special dish available only at that branch - the mushroom soba, with pretty high expectation. It's not bad at all, but there is nothing extraordinary about it either. I love soba and mushrooms by the way. The atmosphere is not bad, but I prefer one at the Old Torrance branch (this is very opinionated though). What is great about this branch is service. The server was very friendly and active when I visited. Overall, I do encourage you to try at least once to see if you like it. It's worth giving it a try.

Nice and quiet Japanese restaurant in the Rolling Hills plaza. There’s a lot of parking in the strip mall, which is convenient. The restaurant has some consistent traffic, but not too full. The food is very fresh and authentic, but more on the expensive side. My meal was was close to $38 after taxes, so it’s on the higher end. Overall, a good spot to try as a treat.

They have some of the best tempura I've had - comparable to the best I've had in Japan. I asked for the tempura bowl with the sauce on the side, and they obliged. My wife got the mushroom udon soup special, and the broth was delicious and flavorful. I liked it much more than the default udon with broth. The place is very small and can probably seat around 20 people max. It has surprisingly good business despite this, so you'll probably want to come earlier if you want to get a seat. The lady helping us was very nice. I plan to return.

This is a small traditional Japanese restaurant serving soba or udon combo dishes such as tempura, eel, tuna, salmon, chicken and beef donburi. Also small selection of sushi. Cooked food is there main offerings. Since the menu has various stuff it’s hard to say one dish is superior or not. It’s a good place for pleasant lunch with a friend or a colleague. Interior is a bit dated and a bit messy.

Really happy to have found this authentic Japanese spot. Came for weekday lunch and there were plenty of street spots available. It's a cozy little restaurant where the owner speaks Japanese and the staff takes time to walk you through the menu. Everything feels genuine and welcoming. The mentai cold udon was the highlight - the noodles had that perfect chewy texture!! Their combo sets are great value too. What makes this place special is its simplicity - just honest, well-made Japanese food in a warm atmosphere!

Love their hot udon! The noodles are smooth and the broth is light and tasty. Perfect meal for a cold day. I like to order the combos because it comes with your choice of udon or soba (hot or cold) Combos: ~Crab, scallop & ikura rice bowl: good but the seafood portions were small. ~Unagi box: husband's favorite! ~Deluxe tempura bowl: shrimp, white fish, scallop, squid, eggplant, kabocha, potato, green bean, mushroom. It's not as crispy but it's pretty good. Limited seating Plenty of parking
